MUSIC AND RITUALS
HELLO, EVERYONE!
DAD SIDE OF THE FAMILY
As most of you already know, I come from a Christian background with a very musically inclined family. Every year we have a tradition of coming together and sing songs. Some of my favorite's songs that we sing is called " Holly Divine ", " Jesus will open door", " Were you there", " Call on God" and lastly " Heaven" All of these songs have a special place in my heart. I remember being really young going to all of their performances and wishing I could sing with them. It was just warming to see them sing for God and really love what they do.
Sadly, I couldn't find any videos of them performing these songs:( Or the quality of the video wasn't great, and you couldn't hear them clearly. But if you want to hear them sing look up" Hope family Gospel Singers of Gastonia NC"
MOM SIDE OF THE FAMILY
On my mom's side of the family, we have a Christmas tradition. When my mom was younger her father had passed away. But while he was alive, during Christmas he would always play his favorite Christmas song " Silent Night " by the Temptations. I've never had the chance to actually meet him but every year I have this tradition to play his song. Whenever I play it, it's like he's there with me.
JADE'S TRADTION
One of my new and favorite traditions that has recently come into my life is a tradition with my partner. During Christmas she and her family will gather at her grandparents' house (nana and pop) and sing Christmas karaoke songs. I can't wait to be a part of this tradition for many years. One of my goes to karaoke Christmas songs is " This Christmas " by Donny Hathway
Jade, I love the picture and music that you posted. I have heard my parents play the Temptations before and thought it was pretty good music. Thanks for sharing.
